Dr. Damin Spritzer
Dr. Damin Spritzer is Assistant Professor of Organ at the University of Oklahoma with the American Organ Institute and Artist-in-Residence for Cathedral Arts for the Cathedral Church of Saint Matthew in Dallas. Her performances have spanned several continents and included historic churches and instruments in Tromsø, Norway; Leipzig, Germany; Orléans, France; Sao Paolo, Brazil; the La Verna Festival in Italy; the Terra Sancta Festival in Israel; with Aaron David Miller at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles; the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina; and numerous additional performances throughout the United States including the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas and the 2018 American Guild of Organists National Convention in Kansas City
The first American woman to record at Hereford Cathedral in England, her fifth CD for Raven Recordings was released in the fall of 2018, consisting of English Romantic rhapsodies and elegies. Her third and fourth CDs were released in 2017. The third volume of her series of the music of R. L. Becker was recorded in April on this historic Kimball organ of St. John’s Cathedral, and the fourth recording, “Fantasia,” was a collaborative project with Dr. Donald Pinson, trombone, recorded at St. Monica Catholic church in Dallas. Spritzer’s first two discs for Raven Recordings are world premier discs of Becker’s music. The first was recorded in Pithiviers, France in 2010 at the renovated Cavaillé-Coll organ of the church of Saint-Salomon-Saint-Gregoire de Pithiviers. Her second volume of Becker’s music was recorded in Orléans, France in 2013 at the Cathédrale Sainte-Croix d’Orléans. At this time of this writing, all four discs have received critical acclaim.
She received her doctorate from the University of North Texas, her Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music, and her Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
