Joyce Shupe Kull, FAGO, ChM, DMA (Organ Performance), has served churches as Organist and Choir Master in Georgia, California and Colorado. She is Principal Organist at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Boulder. A former Director of the AGO Committee on Professional Certification, she was elected to three two-year terms as National AGO Councillor for Education, where she supervised the introduction of the Pogorzelski- Yankee Scholarships for Organ Students and organized the Task Force on Training Videos for Organists. Dr. Kull has presented workshops at National Conventions on Creative Service Playing—most recently on Hymn Reharmonization at the 2018 KC convention––AGO Certification, and Bach Performance. She has recently composed a collection of organ works, and has written anthems for SATB choir. Her organ prelude on Telos was published by Selah Publishing in the 2016 Houston Convention collection, and premiered at the convention. She has prepared over 50 AGO candidates at all levels for AGO certification; she serves on the AGO Board of Examiners and the National Nominating Committee.
