Certification — Vital Dimension of AGO’s Educational Purpose, will touch on AGO’s legacy of educational advancement for organists and choirmasters, with inspiring success stories of candidates’ guild exam completion, details of each exam, and tools for their preparation, including recent developments of technology.

Sheryl Sebo, DMA, AAGO, is Organist/Associate Director of Music at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, Dallas, Texas. Previous positions have included St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, First United Methodist Church-Plano, Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church, New Jersey, and First United Methodist Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Degrees are from Texas Christian University, Boston University, and a DMA in organ performance from Rutgers-the-State University. Organ study was with Dr. Emmet Smith, Dr. Max Miller, George Faxon, Dr. Joyce Kull, David Drinkwater and Johannes Geffert.

Dr. Sebo holds the Associate (AAGO) certification, is member of Dallas and Ft. Worth AGO chapters, and serves as AGO Southwest Region Coordinator for Education.  She was an Associate Faculty member at Collin College for ten years, teaching Music Fundamentals and private organ.  She has performed as organ recitalist and offered workshops on topics of church music and organ.
